Campus Security Gates

Belmont Abbey College will activate the residential gates on March 25, 2024. The gates will close at 10 p.m. each evening and open at 6 a.m. the following morning. Therefore, the gates will require Belmont Abbey College ID Card access from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day. The college’s main entrance gate will remain open until a later date. 

 Please note that you should wait to pass through the gates until the lights turn green. Please do not try pass through while the gates are moving. Gates will remain open for one vehicle at a time. Do not tailgate through the gate. 

The gates have signage that gives instructions for calling campus police. If you forget your card, call the campus police, and they will open the gate remotely. The phone number for Campus Police is on the gate.

Food delivery apps contain a section with instructions for the driver. Via these instructions you must instruct the driver to call campus police when they arrive at the gate. The phone number for Campus Police is on the gate. Campus Police will provide access remotely. You may also arrange to meet the driver at the gate. Please ensure that you give instructions so you can get your food.

All guests must call campus police for entrance. The phone number for Campus Police is on the gate.

Emergency vehicle sirens operate on standard frequencies. This means that the gates will open automatically for emergency vehicles.

Any student with a Smartcard ID (new ID) can access the gates.

If you received an Abbey ID beginning in Fall 2023, you have a  Smartcard ID and it will allow you to access gates. If you received your Abbey ID prior to Fall 2023, please go to the Crusader Success Hub or Campus Police for a new card.
